Journal of Search and Rescue
The Journal of Search and Rescue is a free peer-reviewed electronic journal utilizing the Internet as a medium for the collation and distribution of original scholarly material on search and rescue. There is currently a lack of a dedicated journal serving those with a direct interest in all disciplines of search and rescue including: rope rescue, water (flat, swift and marine), ice rescue, wilderness search and rescue, structural collapse rescue, trench collapse rescue, cave rescue, dive rescue, motor vehicle extrication, canine search, technical animal rescue, air rescue and mines rescue. Article submissions from other search and rescue disciplines are welcome.

Military Medicine is the Association's official monthly journal. Articles published in the journal are peer-reviewed scientific papers, case reports, and editorials. The journal also publishes letters to the editor. It is currently under the leadership of its Editor William H.J. Haffner, M.D. (CAPT, USPHS, Ret.). AMSUS Membership includes a subscription to the journal available in print and online.
The objective of the Journal is to promote awareness of Federal medicine by providing a forum for responsible discussion of common ideas and problems relevant to Federal healthcare. Its mission is: To increase healthcare education by providing scientific and other information to its readers; to facilitate communication; and to offer a prestige publication for members’ writings.
The journal began publication in 1892 as The Military Surgeon. Referenced in Index Medicus and on the MEDLARS system, Military Medicine is a valuable educational and informational resource for all Federal Health Professionals.

The Army Medical Department Journal fully subscribes to the principles and standards of the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, 2008) with regard to potential conflict of interest in the preparation, review, and publication of articles; the privacy and confidentiality of information of patients and study participants; and the protection of human subjects and animals in research.
